More
Favorita is a white Italian wine grape grown primarily in the Piedmont region. It is most widely planted on the left bank of the Tanaro river in the Roero district near Alba. The grapes tend to ripen late and maintain a fair amount of acidity. When planted on warm climate sites, the Favorita can develop minerality and notes of sea salt. Exposure to oak barrel aging can give the wine a rounder mouthfeel.
Langhe is the hilly subregion east from Tanaro River and south of Alba, in the Province of Cuneo, Piedmont. The name "Langhe" is the plural form “langa”, a local word describing a a long downhill. A Langhe DOC wine can be red, white or rose, from the mixture or individual tipe of grapes. It can be quiet, frizzante, novello (a youthful style) or passito (made from dried grapes).
