The Estate Argyros was founded in 1903 by Georgios Argyros, in a 5-acre vineyard located in Episkopi Gonia Thiras (Santorini). Georgios Argyros made his wines according to the traditional Santorinian way to take advantage of the grapes produced by his own vineyard. The person who significantly changed the image of the winery was the nephew of the founder, Yiannis Argyros, who has been running the wine cellar since 1974. The Estate Argyros vineyard is located in Episkopi Gonia Thiras, with an altitude of 35-150m, oriented to the east and south-east, and the vine is formed in the traditional crown. The efforts of estate Argyros have been recognized worldwide, as indicated by the award given by Wine & Spirits Magazine as one of the 100 best wineries in the world in 2005 and 2006.
