Made with water from the same crystalline mountain streams, in the same cold, pure air, The Glenlivet Founder's Reserve is as smooth and fruity as the whisky that first flowed from the original copper stills.
The traditional oak barrels in which the whisky is matured give each expression its distinct characteristics.
Then, to give a modern twist to the expression, master distiller Alan Winchester combined a selection of aged oak casks with first-fill American oak casks. The first-fill American oak casks are those that have never been used to mature whisky before. Selective use of these casks provides a smooth, creamy sweetness that blends harmoniously with the delicate flavours and complex fruit tones already present in the whisky.
