Jean-François Ranvier and François Dauvergne have come together to create a unique approach and to build a brand focused on quality, from vines to wine. Entrusted with the best terroir plots in the vineyards, Jean-François and François consult each property on all aspects of vineyard management, proper harvesting techniques and winemaking processes in cellars. Before harvesting, an agreement is concluded on the appropriate price for grapes or finished wines, and Dauvergne Ranvier purchases 100% of the annual production. It is a fully collaborative effort that ensures that properties will sell their grapes.

Grenache – Syrah wines have been made for many centuries – the combination of Grenache and Syrah has proved extremely successful. Both members of the blend prefer warm climates, such as those found in southern France, in Spain, and in the warmer New World countries. Wines made from this blend typically have aromas of stewed plums, black cherries, blueberries, black olives and even a hint of spiced dark chocolate. In France the blend is widely used in the southern Rhone Valley, both for AOC and IGP wines – the most prestigious wines in which these two varieties come together are those of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Just across the Pyrenees, in northern Spain, the pair are used together in various regions, but most notably in the rich, fashionable reds of Priorat.

Gigondas is a village in the southern valley of the Rhône but ans also holds the name for some red and pink wines. The name takes an area that covers the base and slope of the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail.  The terroirs here is characterized by a warm and dry Mediterranean  climate and the combination of limestone soils (on the slopes of Montmirail to the east) rocky, sandy soils with free drainage (on flatter land, below to the north and west).
