René Dopff took over Dopff & Irion in 1945 and then, he broke away from the old winemaking techniques and focused on the territory rather than the grape varieties. He decided to divide the vineyard at Château de Riquewihr into four estates which he renamed with typical French names: Les Murailles, Les Sorcières, Les Maquisards and Les Amandiers and from that day on, each estate was dedicated to a certain variety of grapes. The love for wine, vines and for the region is an invitation to a journey through history that must be shared and enjoyed.
